Description:

Manual Handling is Module 2 in accordance with the latest GWO Basic Safety Training standard.

Training in the use of manual transport techniques.

During the training, delegates will learn the importance of doing work safely and reliably in accordance with legal requirements in various countries around the world. They learn to identify aspects of their tasks that could increase the risk of injury. The main emphasis during the training is on the psychological aspect in order to make delegates aware of the importance of adhering to safe practices and techniques used in manual work, including proper equipment operation. It is these correct techniques and posture when moving heavy objects that protect us against diseases and injuries of the skeletal system.

After the training, delegates are able to identify signs and symptoms of injuries or ailments associated with bad manual techniques and have knowledge of how to report them.

In the latest version of the GWO BST standard, Manual Handling also appears as a combined training, under the name: Working at Height & Manual Handling Module 5. This training is also available in Vulcan Training & Consultancy.
