Wind Energy GWO Trainings
On 27-30 September 2022, we take part in the economic mission to the Wind Energy Hamburg 2022 fair.
The trip is organized by the Center for Economic Initiatives of the Marshal's Office and is financed from the Regional Operational Program of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship
for the years 2014-2020, a project called "Strengthening the position of the regional economy, Western Pomerania - Innovation".
Training with GWO certification - i.e. the Global Wind Organization - is intended for people planning or already working in the wind sector in the construction and operation of wind turbines.
This organization was founded by companies that have a nearly 90% share in the global Wind market - such as Siemens Gamesa, Vestas or Innogy.
Basic Safety Training covers 5 basic modules.
People planning work only on land will need 4 of them: Fire Awareness, First Aid, Working at Height and Manual Handling (colloquially referred to as the GWO BST Onshore package). People going to work on building or servicing wind turbines at sea will additionally require the Sea Survival module (all 5 modules are called GWO FULL BST Offshore).
In addition, GWO introduced basic technical training - GWO Basic Technical Training (GWO BTT).
These are trainings for people without special technical education, explaining the environment and scope of the technician's work, and explaining, first and foremost, the principles of safety during electrical, mechanical, installation works and the use of power hydraulics tools. It will most likely be required of any newly hired technician in the near future.
FULL BTT includes a package of 3 basic modules - Electric, Hydraulic and Mechanical. The Installation Package includes two modules - Mechanical and Installation.
